The catalyst for my paintings comes sometimes from sketches, writing, dreams and life; other times I’m not entirely sure what will happen, and the piece evolves on its own. 

A bright palette contrasts with darker themes, alluding to conflicting transitions and struggle between euphoria and emptiness. The more direct flow of energies and ideas that play with the combination of drawing and painting, color and text results from my need for expression. Words exist in many contexts, spoken or written; I use them in abstract pictorial space.

My work evokes both an alienation from the world, yet at the same time an intense personal connection with the surrounding environment. I paint to integrate the instability and elegance in the world, and seek to make a personal connection with the viewer.
