My work evokes both an alienation from the world, yet at the same time an intense personal connection with the surrounding environment. I paint to integrate the instability and elegance of the world, and seek to make a connection with the viewer.

The catalyst for my paintings comes from sketches, dreams, writing, and travels through life. Sometimes I'm not entirely sure where the piece originates, but my art explores the physical, psychological and mystical landscape.

I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t painting or drawing. I’ve always loved to experiment with various mediums; the materials become a means of self-expression and discovery. Luscious pigment sticks, acrylic and oil paints, marker, watercolor and brilliantly colored inks may all be included in a piece. Layers of papers, acrylic mediums and bits of found objects may be built up, then peeled back or scraped away in search of the past, present and future.
